Any money that a buyer is required to bring to closing should be in the form of a cashiers check or money order if over a $1000. Anything under a $1000 can be in the form of a personal check. The check should always be made payable to the Title Company that is facilitating the transaction. We once had a client who asked if she could write 7 personal checks to cover the amount due at closing. The answer of course was no!! However, I did thank her for having such a great idea.
